People can fly?

One of the top news stories going on, mainly in Italy, is the Costa Concordia cruise ship accident. Whether the captain is at fault or not is not my complaint here.  It's people that say things like, "that's why i would never go on a cruise" or  one that said "I'd rather be in control if I live or die", along with something about not being a very good swimmer.  But the same people that say these things would travel in an airplane? I didn't know people could fly, when did i miss that breaking news?  My thoughts are that there is a risk with everything.  Boat accidents, plane accidents, car accidents.... heck, I've seen a scooter and bicycle accident before. You just can't live your life in a 'bubble'.

Nice Reminder

Midwest raised, New York was unfamiliar territory. Unless you want to consider watching repeating Seinfield episodes as an encounter. But from watching TV and what others have mentioned here and there, I had the impression that New York city was full of rude, inconsiderate, cars will run you over if you dare to cross the street type of city.

Hubs and I decided to go on a 'mini moon', a little pre-honeymoon vacation, to New York City for New Years Eve. Watching thousands of strangers gather in some blocks from the New Years Eve Ball on TV growing up, I was finally going to get to see this in person! It wasn't cheap, but since we used our credit card points (sounds of heaven) for our entire hotel stay, it helped offset the total bill for this. Or should I say, let us spend the money elsewhere. That elsewhere would be FOOD.  People were nice, probably because those 'people' were also tourist's? Food was good, except those street side vendors, what is that meat you're about to slap on that stick? I will pass.  If you ever visit, and enjoy seafood, actually, even if you are ify about seafood, I bet you will enjoy this restaurant. BUBBA GUMP SHRIMP. A nice place to splurge on those calories you've been saving up for. We managed to get there before the dinner rush, otherwise, you're waiting in the crowd that doesn't know a thing about personal space. Food is worth it! There is a lot of walking you will do. Excuse me if I am rude, BUT I noticed that there weren't very many overweight people... anywhere. (I run into this in Chicago, IL as well)  Walking seemed to be the choice of transportation. Walked to breakfast, walked to the shops, walked to the subway, to walk to more shops. Walking was faster than driving.  You will get your exercise in. I could honestly go on and on and on. But I'm going to stop here. Just bug me via e-mail and I will post more info for anyone that wants to know more. I'd say overall, I really enjoyed New York City, and can't wait to return! To spend New Year's Eve in NYC is def one of that should be on your bucket list, if you don't mind losing a little personal space for a few days, walk your legs, and spending more than you'd like. 

A Good Idea

Oh yes, action shot! This moment fulfuilled my curiosity of what it would be like to play with Marcel... ya know, that pet monkey Ross had on 'Friends'.  This tool place in Isla Rotan (sp?) in Honduras. One of our stops on our cruise vacation we took via Carnival Cruise Lines. From Miami, FL., we stopped at the Cayman Islands (BREATHTAKING!), Belize, Honduras, and Cozumel.  Everyone has their own opinion of a cruise, so I will let you in on mine. I had one of the best times. A cruise is truley the way to go! Visiting some exotic vacation spots, water, water, everywhere, beaches, ocean, and the sound of the ocean while you sleep has never been so relazing. Plus all you can eat! Like 3 in the morning, husband has enjoyed his drinks and didn't realize he ordered 3 entrees of food, all you can eat. There was never a moment we felt... suffocated? And never felt sea sick. Never bored. Only extras to pay were any extra activites on the islands, and the booze. We are saving our pennies for our next cruise!
